How to create your MAPP lists on Wunderlist

Managing the MAPP System Using Wunderlist

Very often we will get asked "how should I setup my Wunderlist?". We get this question specifically because we use Wunderlist as one of the tools to manage tasks for our system.

So what I do here is talk a little bit about the layout, then we'll talk about what each list is for, and, before all of that we will tell you how to create a new list.

Once you've I have learned how to do this the next step is to create all of your red vacant list so these are the list that you should have:

qaz

The first one is your 15-year goals

As the name of the list indicates this is really going to know all your 15-year goals. What you want to do here is have six to eight goals a quick overview of what 15 years from now will look like

Next is your 5-year goals

On this list you're going to want a little bit more detail, you want to make sure that as you get closer in time frame that the goals are big enough to really pull you. The whole point of creating a 5-year future is that it calls you forth. Make sure you put some good meat on the bones here so that is you work towards your 1-year future you've got enough to work with.

Here is where the rubber meets the road your 1-year plan

Here you will focus on at least 7 overarching areas that will help you create all the goals for this year. From these areas you may actually create hundreds of goals for you and your team. The seven overarching goals booby things like "transform our company culture" think of all the sub goals or metrics that will go into getting this accomplished. So the purpose of your overarching goal to create a direction in which to go in and then you set up all the metrics to fulfill goal.

Quarterly goals for all 4 quarters

This is where you take the breakout goals from your one year plan and break them out to each quarter so that you can tackle them one at a time. Always start from the end and work your way back to the present.

Running list

This is where actions, tasks, and goals that need to happen in the current 90-day period get queued as the await to get loaded on to your week-to-week list.

The Week-to-Week.

If This Were a battle this would be the front. this is where the day today action is happening so what you do is you review your quarterly and take some goals from there and move them onto your week-to-week. Sometimes your quarterly goals have many moving parts. If that is the case you take some of the parts and move those to your week-to-week and work on those those. As the quarterly goals get completed the annual goals get completed so on and so on. Remember the game is always being played at a week-to-week level.

Your capture list

This is for all the things that got away from you during annual planning or through the course operations. You can "Capture" them here, and, add them onto the appropriate list during your weekly meeting

Hurdles list

re is where you capture all the things you haven't quite figured out yet. everything from employee on-boarding process has two new product ideas to what your dress code should be can go on the hurdles list then when you're having your weekly meeting you can tackle one at a time so you've dealt with all of your hurdles.

Team List

As the name indicates this is your team list this is where you keep your team up to speed on everything that's happening in the organization, we have recently moved this communication onto a new tool called Slack. Stay tuned for more updates on. We think that it is a much better tool for organizational communication.
